Command mode: an AI assistant in any text box

Dictation writes what you say. Command mode does what you say. It’s the difference between “write: thank you for the offer” and “politely reply that we accept the offer, but ask for delivery by the 15th.”

How it works

1. Select the text you want to change (or don’t select anything if you want new text).
2. Hold the dictation key plus Alt (default is Ctrl+Win+Alt).
3. Give the instruction. Release.
4. The selected text is replaced with the result. If you don’t like it, Ctrl+Z.

Saved commands

On the Saved Commands page, you save long instructions under a short name. For example, “formal email” = “Rewrite the text as a formal, polite email with greeting and closing.” After that, just say “formal email.” In Business, commands can be shared across the whole team so everyone writes in the company’s tone.
